The "Battalions" consist of a number of divisions, made up of regiments and other units who wish to serve together. The 44th, when serving with the Napoleonic Association in the UK - does so under the banner of the County Division, when overseas - B Division. The 'Big Battalions Crest' is:

• A Naval Crown. Because our units come from all parts of the Globe.

• A Blue shield with George III cipher. The shield is taken from a shako plate and is blue to represent the Ocean.

• The Lion support represents the King.

• The Fox support represents the people.

The Motto translates as 'First do no harm'. (After all we are not doing it for real are we!)

“The British forces within The Napoleonic Association are grouped together under the title "The King's Brigade" in honour of His Britannic Majesty King George the Third. The forces Brigaded together are any of those that would come under the jurisdiction of either Horse Guards or The Board of Ordnance during the period of the Napoleonic Wars and are Brigaded in sub divisions,

The County Division (Redcoat Line infantry with Light infantry support)

B Division - when serving overseas

The Division is currently commanded by Colonel Edwin Parker (44th East Essex regiment of Foot)

Equo ne credite - Do not trust the horse

The crest represents the repulse of the French cavalry whilst the Division stood in Line. (they tried to take our Colours at Waterloo in 2009).

The yellow ground represents the cornfields,  the black horse stands for the French cavalry

"Our Commander has given us some of the best and most capable units in  the NA and when ever we come together, our combined expertise is  better than most".

The Objectives of The County (B) Division

Reach a level of expertise in our drill and the way we work together on the battlefield so that we produce an effective and enviable fighting force.

Establish within our group of regiments the knowledge that we can come together and form the Division, with whatever numbers we have and in what ever part of  the world we find ourselves.
